For these animals that find themselves out of the water, or trapped in shallow areas, ultimately it is the response of local people that ensures whether it can get back in the water, and the difference between life and death. Iyo Ang Dagat (The Sea is Yours) wins $15,000 Impact Grant funding at the Jackson Wild Earth Alliance Impact Pitch

LAMAVE’s documentary film and impact campaign “Iyo Ang Dagat” (The Sea is Yours) came in second, winning $15,000 in impact funding at the Jackson Wild Earth Alliance Impact Pitch at this years Jackson Wild Summit. The funding will be used to expand our impact campaign in Palawan, Philippines.

Panaon Island Protected Seascape (PIPS) officially declared in the province of Southern Leyte

On August 29, 2025, one day before international Whale Shark Day (Aug 30) Republic Act No. 12238 was enacted into law officially declaring the Panaon Island Protected Seascape as a protected seascape under the Expanded National Integrated Protected Area System (E-NIPAS) Act.
